2007' 30 ft Bavaria, has had fresh water dripping into hollow joists at the rate of 6 cups per day. No water leak at water tank, hot water heater, pressurizing pump, in transom due to transom shower, under either sink, below cockpit locker near diesel tank where water lines head to bathroom.   Water is coming from under the molded bathroom where we can't inspect the lines or source of water. We removed the floor panel from where the steps come down after cutting some trim near the nav station. We did that to find out what was happening in that section of the bilge.  In that corner adjacent to the bathroom is a cutout where the bilge pump tubing goes back.  The water is seeping down that hollow joist from the stern direction. The rate of flow increases if the water pump is turned on. And the pump repressurizes on its own when no water is running.  What is leaking?  Where is the leak?

On my b40ocean I had a leak on a pressure pipe where it had chafed as it passed under the engine. By the sound of it your leak is down stream of the pump. Geoff

Ok , had that on my 2006 Bav30 also. What i discovered was the hot water cylinder/heater pipe fittings began to leak, im talking about the plastic push fittings. The problem was the heater heated to above 65c, it was nearer 90c! the fittings used by Bavaria are only rated to 64C, but the thermostat was set fully on! not a Bav fault, more to do with the commissioning brokers failed to check settings before handing the boat over.

So after a few years the fittings start to fail and leak, i took all the fitting off close to the heater and replaced with new from Plumbase, cheap as chipps and pushed everything back together, before using i adjusted the heater down to about 50c, which saved elec, and the problem didnt return in the two years i kept the yacht. The only other thing i did was to move the first fitting away from the heater/tank by about another 3inch, which reduce the temp of the brass fitting effecting the plastic fitting.

I had the same problem as Nornie, same solution.  In my case the problem was made a bit worse by the poor routing of the pipework which put a sideways load on the fitting nearest the calorifier.

Hi Irouda: Did you sort this out? We've just had the identical problem: water in the first hollow joist forward of the companionway. Totally dry forward and aft of this. All the pushfit fittings I can reach seem fine, so Nornie Lees's solution doesn't seem to apply to me (unless there's a joint I can't find.) Not sure it's the moulded bathroom, as the hot and cold pipes on our 2006 Bav 30 seem to go from the engine compartment directly into the sink from the calorifier (and as I said, the engine compartment is dry) at the stern of the moulded unit - and there's no water there. Any ideas would be gratefully received!

Our Vision 40, same vintage, 2007, has had several leaks in the past 2 years where the red hot water tubing developed pin hole leaks, some almost too small to see. The thing to watch for is recycling of the pressure water pump. Suspect poor quality of the tubing combined with higher temps in the hot water system. Fix is pretty easy, just find the leak and cut and rejoin the tubing or add extra length with a quick connect fitting. I have been replacing the entire hot water tubing (red) piece by piece.

Thanks, Rob: I'll go searching. I suspect for me it's be in the galley sink region - the connection between the calorifier and the sink in the heads unit leads through a dry sealed compartment. The water pump does not cut in and out, however: it just sits quietly until a tap is open. Thanks for the advice!
