A difference to the the lighting.

I have just done the engine bay light mod too, but used a square block of LEDs centrally (only because I had it already!) and you are right, makes a massive difference to have a flood of light and not a torch between your teeth!   

The other thing your photos have given me the idea of is the upside down plug bank.  I want to add a couple of extra mains sockets at the chart table for all the chargers that everyone wants to plug in instantly on arriving at the boat.  I have only one socket there at the moment and as result I find wires, chargers and devices in all manor places round the boat getting in the way.   Mounted on the underside  of the locker keeps them neat and out of the way.
