Self setting bow roller
« on: February 08 2014, 17:52 »
Hi We have bought a Bavaria 350 lagoon with a self stowing bow roller. As we normally moor on a swinging mooring we would like to stow the anchor in the locker whilst moored. However the bow roller has a fixed pin over the anchor preventing easy removal. I would like to cut away the fixed pin and replace it with a dropnose pin. Has anyone done this or is there another way of doing it.

Mine (a 42') has a straight pin with a stainless retaining pin... which is also what my friend has on his 40'.  I would prefer this to a drop nose pin due to the reduced fear of seizing by corrosion, thus leaving it always available in the instance of an emergency deployment.

Kind regards,
