Electric to manual shower bilge pump
« on: November 15 2013, 22:36 »
After constantly disassembling, cleaning and playing around with the standard Jabsco shower bilge diaphragm pump I replaced it with a small manual bilge pump. Best thing I have done going back to basics. The plastic ends on the jabsco had deformed over the years and leaked and/or lost pressure. The manual one is still located in the basin locker, is quiet and more effective.

And a good size foam sponge does a good job too.....send the shower water down the basin. Gets that last drop out too.
Our Bav 42 has two bathrooms but only one has a shower. Fitted a shower to the second one, only needed a shower hose and head, and a sponge.

fitted a whale gulper to ours !!!, so far so good , cant say we ever would have emptied shower by hand into loo , but can see attraction of hand pump , now that ive run drain (nightmare !!) we have that option in future .
