Acid stains on kitchen counter
« on: January 15 2025, 06:21 »
My wife complains because she says I use the forum to ask stupid questions, while the main question remains unanswered.
So, before the end of this forum I would like to know if someone knows how can I remove the acid stains in the typical blue Bavaria 2000era kitchen counter.
Don't know if I should have used galley instead kitchen, any clarification on that will be also welcome.

On a ship/ boat kitchens do not exist… big kitchens are galleys, small kitchens like a coffee corner a pantry.
Countertops are composite materials and acids and some plastics/ resins are not a good marriage. If you want to restore the tops, you may want to look at companies who can do spotrepair of these materials.

Previously I had an unintended cut in vinyl covering, which was glued together and also surface restored by a specialist. You can find them making car upholstry/ dashboard repairs (activated airbags) or kitchen countertop repairs

Thanks Happysailor for both explanations.

The countertop is not very damaged is just like a shadow on the surface. I was thinking on polishing, but I don't want to go from bad to worse and that's the idea of asking in case someone had found the solution.
