replacing portlight window seals
« on: October 20 2024, 16:35 »
Hi, I have leaky portlights.  I have the official lewmar seals for the windows, but find it near impossible to get them to stay in.  One corner is always wanting to come out.

What tricks do you use to replace your lewmar window seals?

Thanks,
Matthew

I’ve done this. It’s important to clean all the old sealant for the groove. It’s not easy and needs patience!
Also make sure you’ve drilled a holes in the new seal to let the air out- that’s not included in Lewmar’s instructions but is important.
