Raymarine Evo autopilot install
« on: October 11 2024, 22:34 »
The original ST4000+ pilot head on my 2000 B36 died recently so I decided the boat show offers were too good to miss and invested in a new Evo pilot pack.

Having started to think about where best to locate the EV-1 and ACU I was wondering if anyone with a 3 cabin B36 has upgraded to an Evo and where they located the units.

Suggestions based on experience or general thoughts will be most welcome.

Thanks

Steve

Mount it as close to the centre of gravity of your boat as you can, and away from anywhere someone might put ferrous objects, mobile phones, or anything else that might cause electromagnetic interference.

In my current boat the sensor is next to the compression post under a seat, but I have already inadvertently put a spare pump motor too close which messed up the autopilot.
