route of water leakage from stanchion base to bilge
« on: August 24 2024, 17:56 »
I have an annoying issue with occasional small amounts of water appearing in the bilge. Nothing for weeks then a cupfull appears and not related to sailing or incline. If it were a leaking stanchion base what route would the water take? Is there any way for this to get into the box section frame ,then into the bilge out the box frame  drain hole? This is at the aft end of the table on a 1997 Bav 38.  Same Hull as the "Ocean", I believe.  Also, any comments on the construction detail under the closed battery base moulding where the box section appears to end , or outboard of this, may help. Surely, if it is closed, this is not a possible route? Any experience on this would be welcome.  I believe this hull was from 97 to 2003.
