Cruiser 37 fuel gauge/sender 12v fuse location

Hello all,

I have a 2014 Cruiser 37 in the US.
After 10 years of no fuel gauge reading (shows full), I decided to explore a bit.
In short, while exploring I crossed a red+ and black-.  I have no power there now and can't find the fuse.
Any suggestions as to the whereabouts?

If you want the long version, read on about my journey.
It has the Road sender unit with 6 wires.
Red +always
Black -always
White +with ignition, goes to + on gauge
Brown -with ignition, goes to - on gauge
Yellow goes to signal terminal on gauge
Blue- Unknown
After replacing the gauge with no luck, I decided to install a new gauge and sender.
I tested everything with short wires from the tank before installing.  I used the black wire to ground the sender.  Everything worked and I was proceeding with a more permanent install when I crossed the red and black, saw a spark and now no power.
I am now looking for fuse.
Help!

When you say you have 'no power', do you mean no power to the fuel gauge circuit, or a total power blackout in all electrical services on board....??   
 
If it's only the gauge, then it should be on the control panel, possibly a circuit breaker marked something like 'instruments'..
 
Or if it's total power loss, our main fuses are a pair of monstrous industrial looking fuses behind the control panel, but to blow those would require a dead short across the house batteries and I don't think what you did could possibly blow these things..
 
If it's not the control panel breaker then I reckon the short circuit spark you observed has damaged an already poor connection in the the gauge circuit, if that's the case just check each connection from fuel tank to panel to gauge.......Bill.

I have a suspicion that the fuel gauge is powered at 5v, supplied by the MDI unit.  You may need to get this checked by a VP technician.

Agree with Tiger39, your fuel gauge (at least mine with EVC control) is directly powered from the MDI unit on the engine. There is no fuse in between. I replaced my fuel gauge with a new one ordered at SVB24 a few months ago because the original ring around the glass was heavily corroded and did not experience many issues.
You may need to call in a VP specialist (if your engine is also a VP with EVC/ MDI control) to measure power supply from the MDI unit and further support. Electrical circuits can be found online )

Here is some more info, I apologize for scarcity of info in original post.
By "no power", I mean to say that the red+ and black- are not registering in the voltmeter.
I am of the opinion that the white+ and brown- are only active with ignition.  That said, the blue (unknown) wire may be an on/off for the white/brown wire which power the gauge.
 
I seem to have power everywhere else and my VP engine does turn on with the LCD display working and RPM analog gauge is working properly.  That said, I think it's an independent circuit.  I checked every fuse on the "301" DC panel as described in the owners manual.

I just got to the boat a little while ago to run the Air cond. for a while before I go backtracking the wires.  I'm figuring there is an inline fuse somewhere.  I should be able to feel a lumpyness in the conduit somewhere.

One more note, the white/brown/yellow wire are the only wires up the the panel where the gauge is. I have to locate the split where the black/red/blue wire come in to the rubber conduit that I see at the tank sender.

Big update.

Above the engine, there is an electronic charge seperator and I found a fuse marked "Tankuhr".
A quick google search showed it as fuel gauge and low and behold, a blown #4 fuse.
I'll confirm everything when it is replaced.

***Second update***
Replaced fuse, 12v again.
Now to decide how to wire the new sender.
I also determined the blue wire has 4-5v running through.
