Gas valve and hose: cannot find fitting parts
« on: July 03 2024, 10:55 »
I'm trying to replace the hose in the gas locker connecting connects the low pressure valve with the pipe leading into the boat.
I bought this part at SVB just to find that what is installed on my boat is using a left turn thread on one end and a right turn thread on the other. https://www.svb.de/de/gok-gasschlaeuche-ueberwurfmutter-beidseitig.html#question-id-4781

Now I'm puzzled, because the comments on this article state that others seem to have the same problem and could not find a solution either.

Likewise, the valve I have installed does not seem to exist. My version (GOK 01280-07) is U-shaped and has a gauge. If I try to find this part, I cannot find it.

Given the size of the gas compartment, can anybody share what they bought and what fits?

I did replace the lot. The hose does not have a threaded fitting on the boat side, it has a pipe for a cutting ring fitting.

The hose I got: https://www.svb24.com/en/gok-gas-hose-cutting-ring-x-8-mm-pipe-socket.html
The bulkhead fitting it connects to: https://www.svb24.com/en/gok-bulkhead-passages-bracket.html#36570

Since the cutting ring will not come off readily, you probably think the hose has a threaded fitting when in fact the cutting ring is just stuck on it. Have a close look at the exploded bulkhead fitting photos in the above link and you'll figure it out! :)
