gas struts for lazarette hatch
« on: July 13 2024, 22:13 »
Not happy with the piece of string "securing" the hatches  of my lazarettes . I want to  to  make an upgrade using a gas strut  which  will hold the hatch  open  even in a sloppy sea. The length looks to  be 70 cm but what about the rating Thinking that 300 N  should be ok  Anyone done this or knows the answer?  Would have been nice if the hatches opened outwards  rather than inwards - doubt if its possible to change that. A design flaw or am I missing something?

On my Cruiser 37, there's one 150N strut on each locker lid.
