Bav 34 teak on locker lid lifting.
« on: June 12 2024, 16:37 »
My teak on the port locker lid appears to be lifting from the adhesive.

What is the recommended action to counter this. Can new panels be sourced?

Thanks

I used thickened epoxy to restick part of my locker lid teak panel - has been successful for last few years. Be careful to mask off around the panel otherwise the epoxy will discolour the gelcoat. West Systems Six10 is easy to use and apply for small repairs.

The same with me, the teak panel separated from the base, in the middle of the panel.  I took out the old joint compound.  and made notches in chanels with an angle grinder.  I cleaned out as much of the old glue as I could through those cuts, and poured liquid epoxy.  I put the weight on the surface, later I cleaned the excess of epoxy with a precision sander and refuged with a sika 290DC
