Thread sealant heads outlet fittings
« on: September 18 2023, 10:02 »
Getting ready to fit new heads outlet in DZR. (2016 Cruiser 37) and will have to trim the skin fitting for a better access for joining all the bits together. So, what is the best recommended thread sealant for the assembly? I am more interested in safety and longevity.

On my Tru-Design seacocks I used sika 291- that was 10 years ago & no problems.

Same, PU sealants are good out of the sun and do not make trouble below the waterline.

The threads really don't need sealant, although I usually use PTFE take. Through hulls to hull I prefer a non setting sealant like Polysulphide, but no reason not to use a PU.
