Autopilot for 42 2004 - Unidenterfied part
« on: August 24 2023, 03:18 »
Going to put in an autopilot system with a Lewmar Mamba drive unit 1/4HP 12V, and a Raymarine ACU 200 kit and Axiom 9plus chartplotter.

Any information or pictures on the steering system would be great.

Dose anyone know what this is, there is a sensor just left hanging under the steering gearbox?

On my 40 I have similar componenti, but Evo 400.
Evo 200 has not enough power for Lewmar Mamba 1/4 hp that need  the computer at least 5 time more power that average motor consumption.
4 amp for Mamba need at least 20 amp computer.
Evo 200 15 amp
Evo 400 30 amp.

If you do not just have the Mamba motor, consider to buy a rotative Jefa motor,

It looks like the (steering?) chain in the first picture could use some grease
