Bavaria 41 2004 helm starter panel replace?
« on: August 16 2023, 20:55 »
Disconnected alternator led to smoke/melt of alarm module in starter panel. Can I find alarm module to replace or do I need to replace entire panel? Basis for meltdown?

The module you've shown (873737) has apparently been superseded by a new part 22354203.  Be sure you're sitting down when you check the price!

Yup, the part number is literally in your photo. Or 3D print one after you see the prices for the spare part. There's nothing in there, just holders for light bulbs. Could swap for LEDs with a resistor while at it!  :kewl

I believe you'll find it also contains a load of circuitry with diodes, resistors and transistors.

Right, looks like good old Nigel explored this some time ago: https://forums.ybw.com/threads/volvo-penta-engine-control-panel-alarm-unit.431611/

Couple diodes and indeed one transistor! Nothing to be daunted by, you'll hardly need a circuit board for that! :)
