B32 2003 - genoa car pulley conversion
« on: July 16 2023, 14:11 »
Just wondering if anyone as retro-fitted a pulley system so that the Rutgerson cars can be controlled from the cockpit?

I don’t want to drill too many holes so would really like to use the chainplates to anchor the pulleys but I can’t see a way to do it neatly. Also the genoa track in the B32 is curved.

If anyone has any hints or photos for any solution they’ve found, I’d be very pleased to hear.

I think there are Rutgerson pulleys that can replace the existing end-stops but I have never seen them on sale. Hopefully there is another way.

Thanks.

Attached is a photo of 2001 B40 with factory installed genoa traveller adjustment (the dirty white line) .I am pretty sure the end pulleys can be sourced from somewhere.

Note that the adjustment line is run back to the cockpit along coachroof edge, through 1 or 2 simple eylets. The cockpit end is not on the photo but is locked by a cheek block about like this one https://www.svb24.com/en/bavaria-footblock-with-lockoff-1-section-12-mm-plain-bearing.html
