Volvo waterlock corroded on D1 30
« on: May 05 2023, 09:01 »
The stainless end panel on the Volvo waterlock has started leaking at 7 years. I know this is a common problem.

Has anyone got a plastic recommendation for a replacement please.

Vetus WLOCKLR 45mm. Slightly shorter but otherwise straight in as there is enough slack in the aft hose to pull it forward. Worth considering having the end plate welded. I had mine done cost about £50 and better than new. It is only the underside of the outlet pipe that corrodes at the weld and creeps down the end cap and the guy who did mine welded up the pipe and put a plate over the lower part of the cap.

Thanks for the advice. I will go for the Vetus because it is fit and forget.
The end plate will go again at some point and I don’t need the hassle of worrying about it.
