Bav 40: new propeller

The boat yard just contacted me and said I will need a new propeller. The old one is worn out after I caught a rope in that storm in August.
I'm wondering if I should get the standard one (does anybody have a specification of the original prop of a Bav 40 model 2010?) or switch to a folding prop.
Engine is a D2-55. Any thoughts?

I attached a picture of what seems to be serial number of the prop but I cannot fully decipher it.

The part number of that propellor is 3583577, this relates to a LH 17x16 3-bladed prop. The part number has been replaced by new part number 23478971.   If you were happy with the old prop, just replace it.  Folding props can have benefits but also there's more to go wrong.

I'm unhappy with the sound it's causing when under sails; well, actually, it's the saildrive making the sounds because the gear selection needs to be in neutral.
A folding prop would stop this.

Do you recommend a specific prop to buy? There's plenty of shops offering 23478971.

It doesn't have to be in neutral, you could also put it in reverse.  The Operator Manual says "If a fixed propeller is fitted the control lever should be set to neutral or reverse. When using a fixed propeller and sailing with the control lever set to reverse the speed is slowed down though less noise is being made."

Get a Featherstream.  Quiet under sail and will give you between 0.5 and 1 knot more speed, and will also give you better grunt in reverse.  It transformed my boat.

I went with a FlexoFold and couldn't be happier.  Mine is 18"x14".  I'm very slightly overpropped, but not bad enough for me to want to change anything.  Any good folding prop will increase your speed under sail and eliminate the noise of the fixed prop rotating.  Sailing should be quiet, except for the wind and the waves.

I have a Kiwi prop on my 350. Faster and quieter undersail, and a bit quicker to grip in astern. Not too expensive either. What's not to like.

Same boat, same engine. I am very satisfied by Flexofold 18x13 3l folding propeller. No any problem, no any maintenance water lubrified. My speed in 7,3 kts at 2000 rpm, 7,5 at 2100 rpm. 7,7 at 2200 rpm but it is to much speed for the boat. Best cruise 2000 rpm,  7,3 kts 3,3 lt/h. Max rpm 2700. Good astern, little prop walk, better speed under sail. Under sail it is stopped in reverse gear positiion. Best choice.

I have just bought a Bavaria 44 2011.
How do you tell if the prop needs replacing?

For me it’s because the propeller is wagging on the sail drive’s shaft like a sheep’s tail.
The teeth are worn out.
