Anchor locker drainage

(1/2) > >>

landes_h:
On my B38-2003 I notice that there is always some water in the bottom of the anchor locker. The drainage holes left and right are positioned to high as to drain the locker completely. Do I have to live with this or did anyone have the same problem and found a good remedy.

Stuart:
Hi Landes

I just drilled another hole lower, epoxied inside the hole and was able to get a matching cover outside, problem solved  :D.
Hope this helps

Thanks Stuart.
That is what I had in mind. Was just wondering whether there is some special reinforcement or any other surprise waiting to be destroyed whlie drilling a hole there.
Will follow your advise at next possibility.

Baltic:
Hi.

Be careful when drill.
Bottom is little bit like in the picture.
I believe that is reason why holes are drilled so high.

Some cases after drilling there have been water inside the boat.
That mentioned epoxy is necessary when making extra holes...

Another way to drain the bottom of box without extra holes.
Just fill the bottom of box with polyester resin mixed with some filler.

Odysseus:
Filling with resin is good  idea, I fixed my problem by cutting up 2 piece's of plastic facia cutting to shape and bolting together, been ok for 4 years now, chain dry.
