New rigging question
« on: June 20 2023, 17:28 »
Hi all
Quick question I have a 2011 Bavaria 36 cruiser (Farr design)
Having new rigging fitted in next few days does anyone known if the electrical connections from factory are easy to deal with?
Rigger is suggestion we call in a electronics guy to deal with for the mast off/on just wondering if its all connections under the mast or straight through cables for things like Radar, mast lights VHF cable etc.
Hoping to have it all completed in a working day
Anyone willing to part with any experience
Thanks John

Why not pop off the ceiling covers and have a look in there? Should be quite obvious if they are connected there and easy to take apart and pull back out through the deck hole. You won't need an electronics guy for that.

Look at the various connections and take photos with your phone.  Then you'll be able to put everything back together correctly.

Take photos as Tiger suggests, but also draw a wiring diagram as some of the wires may have a stripe which may or may not show in a photograph.

I'm glad to see the wiring you have there looks just as messy as the on on my boat. I'm surprise this is factory standard!

Some factory and some by the company tha commissioned the boat in Australia. Not too bad compare to some of the old cars I have worked on!
