Swimming platform: Lifter constantly breaking -ideas?

Hi,

my Bavaria 40 (model 2010) has a power lifted swimming platform. It's using two "Bokondi Mega 2 / 350 Strong" lifters.
These lifters have been replaced 3 times and they are €300 each. I wonder, if there's a better working alternative?

I also consider eliminating them completely and replacing them with a manual lifter; the problem is: the platform is pretty heavy and it can be hard to pull it up and easy to drop it and damage the hinges.

Same boat, I use manual lifter from 2017. It works fine. Asap I'll public some images of my system.

What's the rope at the bottom (white/blue) doing? Is this also part of a pulley system?

It is an elestic balancing system that use old piston holes. Is not necessary.

I see. So you have pulley in your system, therefore reducing forces by 50%, is this right?
Is it enough to easily lift and lower the platform?

Dear Krumelur,

I used to have a Cruiser 40 2008 (same as yours)
There is a engineering issue on these pulling mechanism. They try to pull from almost 180 degrees which requires very high momentum.
On later models they have changed and they installed with an angle. However this also didn't help to solve the issue and mainly they switched to pulling lines powered with an electric motor. Or on some models like Cruiser 40 2012 they used pistons to assist the lifting. But by the time these pistons lost some gas and didn't operate as expected.

I strongly suggest you to switch to manuel rope systeme as Kavok suggested. It will be 100 % reliable and even faster to open/close.
