Hi folks.
We are doing a Youtube video on the issues that some (a lot) of Volvo penta D2 55 owners are having with the securing of the drive plate to the flywheel. There are issues with some of the drive plate securing bolts that are a socket head bolt, becoming loose, unscrewing, not being loctited in, or not being torqued in position. Some bolts have bent, worked loose, or simply undone.
The hours of use varies from;Issues on delivery to around the 3 year warranty end. After which Volvo just wash their hands.
During the warranty period Volvo have a standard response to any claim through their dealerships. Which is, you hit something in the water with the prop and the drive plate is designed to be a week link to protect the saildrive.
