Bavaria two weels steering system
« on: January 21 2019, 21:33 »
Cecking the steering system of the Cruiser 40 m.y. 2008, I bought second hand, I have the impression that all the piece are strong and good machined, but I never find anything about maintenance of the components.
Serching in Internet I think that the parts are:
Mamba Bevelheads BH 10, Mamba reduction box WRG 11, Mamba autopilot driver 1/4 hp .
Probably some parts are custom for Bavaria because the image I found are little different from parts that are in my boat.
I ask if you know how  these parts are reliable and what is the preventive maintenance to do.
Other question:
the rotative Mamba autopilot motor is reliable as a Raymarine  T2 linear piston ?
Now Jefa also produce a rotative motor with a flange mount to Lewmar  BH 10.
In case of broking of Lewmar motor, wich option is better, Raymarinr Linear T2 piston or Jefa rotative motor?
Tank you for any informatios.
