Bavaria 30 Cruiser - Washboard Storage?
« on: May 14 2021, 09:47 »
does anyone have any good ideas for washboard storage please?

looking to create some storage rails/brackets, maybe in the cockpit locker or behind aft cabin door.  Would be good to see other people's solutions...

thanks

On our 40 Ocean the washboard fits on top of the sliding hatch and slides into the garage with it. It took me 2 years to discover this amazing and extremely handy fact! :)

I added some clear rubber feet to the washboard so they don't scratch each other up. The washboard storage bracket under the stairs is now used for a Brändi Dog game board instead  :))

wow - that sounds perfect.  I'm not sure mine does that.  Don't think there's enough clearance.

2 pouches secured to the cupboard side under the chart table. one in each, you can just see the end of them behind the cushions under the table. once in a click tie strap stops them sliding about

We installed aluminium tracking on the wall in the heads of our B32. Probably similar cabin arrangement to your B30.
Bought on EBay. Keeps the wash boards safe, not in the way and close at hand.

Previous owner figured out that they fit exactly to the side of the cockpit table. I'm not at the boat, but will post some pictures when I get down there later today. Means you don't have to take them below, they are nice and handy for slipping in my place when leaving the boat.

Two webbing straps screwed to the table sides plus a u-section plastic conduit.

On our 2001 34 there is place in the aft cabin.
There is a notch at the end of the bunk next to engine.
The washboard slots in between that and the door frame.
You might find something similar

On our 40 Ocean the washboard fits on top of the sliding hatch and slides into the garage with it.

Another subtle but useful difference between Ocean and aft-cockpit models. On our 40 aft-cockpit (same vintage) the gap in garage is not big enough for washboard storage, it looks like having even 5mm more clearance the washboard could fit there (slides about 1/3 way in) However, there are purposely made slots on the side of engine room in port aft cabin.
