Galvanic isolator

My friend has a 2006 Bavaria 33 and is asking if it would have come with a Galvanic isolator as std. Wehave had a good look and can see no sign so far. For those of you who have them fitted, whereabouts are they fitted, or where did you fit one?

  I would very, very much doubt it, unless a previous owner fitted one..
A few years ago I took a non-yachting friend to a boat show at Kip Marina, this friend had sailed with us on numerous occasions on our own boat (B38 Lagoon 1991)........We climbed onboard a brand new, shiny, Bavaria yacht and made our way into the saloon whereupon my friend sat at the nav-table, looked around confused, and said..."Where's all the stuff..??"          ....Bill.

No, not fitted as standard. mine was fitted by Clipper Marine during commissioning between the 240v inlet and the panel. Have not actually checked, but suspect that it is on the inside wall of the cockpit locker close to the inlet.

We have a 2006 bav 33c. Have just ordered an isolater as I cant find one on it. Not sure whare to fit it but will prob be near the inlet socket in the locker as I think there is already a join plug there. Have to wait a couple of weeks yet till we can go down to boat.

My friend Bryan is going to fit his to the bulkhead in the locker. any recommendations or are they all the same?

picked up a safeshore 70amp one. seems to have good reviews. only time will tell, up to now the boat is unplugged so not attached to marina metals, when we are away, but intending to leave it plugged in and dehumidifier  on, hence the fitting of an isolater.

I built my own with parts and instructions from Yandina.  I installed it on the 30 amp service for my C&C 35.  The Bav 44 is getting AC installed this month.  I will be working the AC circuits and will probably install another one.
