The gel coat color for a Bav around 2003 - 2006 is Ral 9016 for white and Ral 5013 for the blue color.

I got this info from the Dutch "BavariaZeilclub" forum. No idea if this is also true for the 2001 types.

I recently called Clipper Marine for Gel coat who advised after a certain year all the white gel coat is the same colour, not sure of the year in question but they were helpful.

Just leaving this here so that people don't waste their time like I did.

The color code should be in the manual. For example http://bavariayacht.org/downloads/manual/Bavaria%2034%201999.pdf has Gel coat: white: RAL 9016
blue: RAL 5020

The gelcoat definitely yellows over time. I've just removed the teak deck on our 2001 Bavaria and excavated the original, pristine gelcoat underneath, which is definitely much brighter white than the part that had been in the sun for 20 years. So you'd best pick up some yellow pigment and plain white gelcoat and then colour match the resin if you want an exact match.

Did a hull repair a while back, no point trying to get original gel ral number as my boat 20 yrs old so colour will not match.  Local fibreglass supply shop gave be ral card with lots of whites to choose from.  I managed to get a reasonable match without me doing any mixing....think this could be tricky at least for me anyway.  Was happy with the finished repair.  If boat was new....perhaps the original ral number would be useful.

You may also ask the people at Selvida (http://www.selvida.de/epages/62442099.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62442099/Categories/News) whether they can help. I believe these people work or worked at Bavaria and claim to have the gelcoat used by Bavaria. According to their website there is a white gelcoat for boats manufactured form 1998 to 2004 and one white gelcoat for boats manufactured after 2004. In the upper right hand corner you may switch the language on the website to English. I used their gelcoat a couple of years ago on a Bavaria 30 (2006) and it matched perfectly in a place which was not exposed to too much UV light before. I tried a different supplier before who offered gelcoat in RAL colors but it did not match as well as the Selvida stuff.

I’ve used the East Coast Fibreglass Supplies White Gel Coat repair kit (https://www.ecfibreglasssupplies.co.uk/category/gelcoat-repair-kits) with good results on my 2000 38. Be aware that this is for a fairly liquid coloured resin which needs the supplied release film if you’re using it on anything other than a horizontal surface to prevent slumping.
If your gel coat colour is anything other than white, I’d advise getting a RAL colour fan or chart and using that to match to the actual colour of the gel coat: ECF offer a decent range of RAL matched resins for repairs.
