Can’t find fuses on 2006 Cruiser 30?
« on: October 04 2022, 13:43 »
Only had the dream boat (C30) a few months and some electrical things not working (eg: TV and shower sump pump). The corresponding rocker switches on my 201 panel are all lit green but the items are not operating. Next thought was ‘fuses’ but I can’t see ANY fuses in or near the 201 panel. Is there a ‘fuse box’ somewhere? Are the rocker switches also some sort of ‘circuit breaker’? If so, how do they operate - doesn’t appear to be any reset button or similar? Sorry if this is an oft asked question, but tried the ‘general search’ and can’t find any existing threads on the topic!

The switches are circuit breakers, so no separate fuses for these circuits.

the 201 panel on our 33 2006 the switches are the breaker as well, the only fuses we have (12v) are for main power in 125amp and 100amp for the windlass, both located near the engine battery. if the switch is lit then there must be power to it, may have a bad connection at the back.
the shower drain may also have a push button in the shower area that has to be held in for it to pump, for the 12v tv it would depend on which fuse they have wired it to. ours comes on with the aux power socket fuse.
they're set by switching off and then back on.
may be worth opening the panel out to see if power is coming out of the relevant connectors

That’s great to know and far preferable to old-fashioned fuses. As DiverPhil has added, there are a couple of major fuses, and I’d already identified them. I feel so much better as I gradually get to know all the nooks and crannies and nuances of Bavaria. This forum is a Godsend! Thank you.

There are circuit diagrams (and much more) in the owners manual, which you can download here - https://bavariayacht.org/downloads/manual/Bavaria%2030%20Cruiser%202006.pdf

It'll be the bus bar behind the panel (white thing screwed to the hull board).  The connectors corrode.  The fridge, shower sump, etc, are all wired through it.  I'm on my third one.

Great tip, I know exactly the bus bar you mean. I’ve seen it. I’ll have a close look there first.

Thanks Tiger, the PO was very good with keeping all the documentation etc and passing it on. Gotta say though, while I love the boat, I’m less impressed with the manual. I’ve had more detailed instructions with a toaster!
