bav 41 fresh water lines in engine compartment
« on: February 08 2021, 20:21 »
I recently removed and replaced my d2-55 motor and found a blue water line with a closed off fitting which
I don't remember coming across when removing the motor.

Can anyone assist with the function and proper connection of this line. See photo attached.

We have similar 'dead end' close to calorifier, looks like factory fitted. Maybe reservation for some add-on equipment, but can'really come up with any sensible use.

Where is it going?

Might just be a drain point for winterizing the fresh water system.

Good point on winterizing Yngmar- on our boat it is on pressure side of cold water plumbing and at the lowest point, so draining from there you should have most of the water out.

Thanks all for you insights.  Australia we never think of winterising!
