VP D2-75 Oil pressure sensor - Thread type
« on: October 12 2020, 16:18 »
Does anybody know the thread type (NPT or BSP) of the oil pressure switch for a VP D2-75 ? In the service manual there is only a hint on a 1/8" thread.
I´m planning to fit a additional oil pressure gauge for the engine and don´t want to pay a fortune for the original VP equipment.
Thanks in advance
Robert

The sensor and the dial gauge should be matched. I prefer 0-5 bar as the needle will be somewhere towards the middle of the dial in operation.

While you're at it why not buy a VDO water temp gauge to match the OPG? You can hook it directly to the existing engine water alarm sensor on the port side of the engine. The one I have is VDO calibrated 40 - 110 degrees  (VDO A2C53413386-K1 or similar) so normal 84 degrees is at the middle of the dial (easy to read).
