Bavaria 34 antifoul
« on: September 22 2020, 20:21 »
I am planning my year end lift.

How much antifoul does it take to fully AF a 2002 Bavaria 34?

5 litres of International Micron would be fine, and should last 2 years in the water.

We've used Tiger Extra for the nine years we've had ours and we've had no problems.
Antifouled in April last year ( putting Extra around the waterline )and we had our first sail this year over last weekend and still able to get great boat speed.

Don’t paint the antifoul on yet if you’re getting lifted out for the winter.  Instructions on the tin will guide you as to the maximum time it can be left before relaunch.
You may also want a special AF for your propellor and also the sail drive if fitted.

Be sure to use an aluminium friendy antifouling paint on your sail drive, aluminium propeller if fitted and the aluminium part around the rudder shaft. Do not use copper based antifouling, such as that used on the hull, on any aluminium parts as this could cause rapid corrosion of the aluminium. Using copper based antifouling paint on aluminium parts could be a very expensive pain in the pocket !!!
