Scrubbing Post Advice - Bavaria 30

Plan to put my B30 on the scrubbing posts this weekend for a mid season scrub. I plan to put it starboard side too as it tends to lean that way due to the batteries etc.

Any tips that may be handy?

Shouldnt be any issues? (fingers crossed!)

Very Impressive but the word precarious comes to mind when I see the picture of your boat standing like that.   In our area we regularly have winds kick up without much notice in the 20+kt range.   We also don't have the same massive tidal range as you.   I give you credit for having the courage and skill to safely execute that type of maneuver.

Thanks, first time I had done it, being 22 as well it was a bit errrr.. but got it next to the posts first time so happy days!

Luckily there was little/ no wind at all so that wasn't a worry.

After seeing a few pics on the YBW of what has gone wrong with other people when doing it, was a little off putting to say the least!

Hi there! Yes she is the long keeled version, not a lot too it really, used two fenders and had them horizontal against each post, and a safety rope around the mast!

I may be leaning against the wall in some drying harbours this summer. How did you find she balanced fore-and-aft? My only experience of drying out on a wall was with an Oyster 395 which sat down on the rudder. The first night was pretty precarious. The second night we attached a line to the spinny halyard going well forwards and winched that up tight.

Balancing was a bit iffy to be honest, I had to be careful getting on the back as it did start to rock a tiny bit, so Just took what I needed out of the boat and left it.
