Hi all,

My Bavaria 44, 2003 model does not have the facility to charge the house batteries, only operates the water heater and 240v sockets.

Has anyone installed a charging system on their older Bavaria's and got any wiring diagrams etc.

Thanks

Spencer

This is what I have on my Bav 39, its capable of charging, engine, 3 domestic and the bow thruster batteries from shore power.

Very straightforward. There is a wide range of battery chargers on the market. The most common are in the 25-40amp range with multiple programmable outlets, usually 3 of them so you can charge your banks separately. Different types of batteries require different patterns of charging and the chargers are programmed accordingly. Usual to mount the charger close to the batteries and you will need a 240V outlet close by.

The charger on Rampage is hard wired into the shorepower circuit breaker.  There are then 2 pairs of wires to the engine and domestic batteries.  Simple job to wire it in - just follow the instructions with the chrager.
