Courtesy Lights Vision 42 Cockpit
« on: May 13 2020, 23:49 »
Hey,  I would like to add a couple of low power Blue LED Hella Courtesy Lights in the cockpit and swim platform.  Wondering what the best way to power them and add a switch in the cockpit to turn them on and off.  Can I run them off of F1 or F2 on the board, into and existing power run like the compass lights, or some other way. I was thinking I could run a power line to the aft locker and attack to a Bus Bar and tie all the lights in to that. However I am still not sure where the best place to connect into is.  I think I missed the class on connecting into the DC power system.  any suggestions?

Jon, open the main DC panel and there is a threaded power "post" that you can connect to.  It may already have some accessories attached to it. Use a ring or fork connector under the nut. I put an inline fuse (5A in my case for lights) into the wire and ran it aft as previously described.
