Hi Guys,
Still pursuing the purchase of a Bav 30. The surveyor has identified a number of cracks in the non-slip part of the gelcoat on the starboard deck. The biggest set seem to be radiating out from the chainplate - but there's nothing on the smooth (non-non-slip!) gelcoat which is immediately next to the chainplate.
Surveyor thinks it's therefore not stress, and his water reading meter thing gave the same readings for this part of the deck as was showing over the rest of the deck - well in the green.
Does it seem likely that this is just crazing in the thicker part of the gelcoat in this section? Would it need treating to prevent water ingress in the future? If so, how? (grinding out and refilling od a textured surface sounds tricky...
So many questions! Any observations gratefully received!
