Dropped my washboard over the side , boat out the water , so broke in 3 :(

Just wondering if some has replaced their pespex hatch for something different and has the old one sparecand willing to sell.

If it makes you feel better I broke mine into two pieces.(Bav38 2000). I located a perspex workshop in Denia Spain and they made a new one for a reasonable price and fitted the lock .It was made easier by having the broken washboard and getting them to copy it Im sure there will be similar places in UK.

There is a local place that has it at the moment , but after all the winter expenditure , its our first winter with this boat , so have been spending to get it how we like it , this wasnt needed , hence the desperate plea ,

How did you remove the lock , i understand its not difficult but couldnt see how .

Many thanks for your reply and empathy .

Cheers

While you are having a new one made, consider having it cut in two parts. Lower part 300mm up with the cut at 45 degree angle downward. The lower part can then be held in with a couple of shoot bolts to provide a barrier for water getting in. A batten screwed to the top part overlapping the cut is a refinement. The now smaller upper part is much easier to handle and still fits the brackets in the aft cabin. Also consider polycarbonate rather than acrylic as it won't shatter next time you drop it!

If it is like Mobella in the picture.

There is spindle both side of lock.
Those can be released by screwdriver.
(Turn clockwise)
