Has anyone converted their table into a bed/lounging area? If so, would you be willing ti share how you did it. Pictures would be helpful. Thank you.

I just did this on my Bavaria 37 Exclusive. I removed the table from the cabinet (it was screwed and glued on to the cabinet and required a wood chisel) and unscrewed the cabinet from the sole... and installed a Springfield Air-Powered 3-Stage Pedestal

SKU:    IB00458594
   1    $350.98
from iBoats.com.

It lowers to 12.5" and rises to 28.5" and feels quite stable.. now I just have to get a 49" by 27" by 5" cushion made.. which I will store in the Aft cabin ceiling under the cockpit sole... should be out of the way there.

Hello - I'm considering this table conversion for my Bavaria 38.  I was wondering how it has worked out for you in use? Is it stable both as a table and a berth?  How did the custom cushion fabrication work out?

We previously owned a Beneteau 42 CC with an optional convertible saloon table installed at the factory and it worked pretty well with two sets of socket legs.  The cushion folded in the middle for more compact storage.  The main weakness was the table/berth setup when used as a table it could be a bit wobbly as the legs in the sockets could work loose - especially in a seaway.

Thanks for 1) sharing your solution 2) and in advance for any other info you can share.
