Interior light size.

My on/off button has fallen out.

I have seen the white block that holds it in place here:

I was a little bit concerned to read it is “recessed” but as it has the switch in the side can it be that different to mine? The vendor sells lots of items and questions are turned off.

Also it mentions a size of 58mm.

I can’t believe that’s the total diameter ... please look at the attached photo of mine ... 58mm is basically where the glass goes.

What would you do?

Also, going back to the block please look at my two photos. It’s almost impossible looking at the block to believe that anything has snapped off. There’s just no sign of breakage, just clean smooth surfaces. And no bits fell out. Is this really my problem?

The above part is just the reflector (and socket), which is indeed recessed. It does not include the dome as fitted to Bavarias and it does not include the switch you're looking for.

That's not a button, that's just one of the two metal spring clips that hold the part in place inside the larger dome.
