Bav 33 cruiser (2006)
« on: May 17 2019, 15:16 »
I have a Bav. 33 cruiser (2006 build) and the fuel sender has failed.
I have taken it out and there are no identification marks what so ever on it and the only guide I have is that it is 250cm long and has 3 wires coming out of it. I have tried to contact Bavaria but no help. I have also tried  SVB and various uk companies but no one can help me with a replacement. Can anyone give me a clue as to who I can contact regarding a new sender unit please?

It is made by VDO and you can identify the exact model from their website www.vdo-gauges.com in the sensors section.

There I several UK stockists. I got mine from Merlin Motorsport I think (a few years ago!)

Mine went recently.

I decided to replace it with a tube type sender, which is more reliable and more stable in its readings.

The resistance is different though, so I replaced the guage at the same time.

Got them both from Demon Tweeks, and it cost about £80 for both (VDO stuff).

If you want to do the same you'll need to measure the depth of the tank where the sender goes in, and you want the sender tube to be about 30mm shorter.
