Holding tank on Bav 36/37 three cabin version - Advice needed

Hello All,

Are there any three cabin Bavaria 36 or Bavaria 37 (circa year 2000) owners out there who have a holding tank / black water fitted?  I am looking to fit one to my 1998 Bavaria 36 Holiday and I am looking for any information and/or photos that anyone may be able to share on where the tank is located and how it is plumbed etc.  Bavaria haven't been much unfortunately.

I had a 2001 37 3 cabin and fitted a holding tank. The factory fit was a pumped system with the tank pump and outlet under the starboard settee in the forward locker. Horrible setup with 6m of waste filled hose running across the boat - so I did not specify this! Instead I fitted a gravity tank in the locker behind the wash basin where the water pumps etc are. It is a tight fit and I think we had to move the pumps a bit but the tank had a capacity of 45l which is pretty good. Simple setup just like the later boats. Waste pumped in the bottom with an internal stackpipe and out of the bottom to the existing seacock. Vent out of the side of the boat and pumpout fitting immediately above in the side deck. Inspection hatch on the top of the tank immediately above the outlet. I sold the boat in 2015 and unfortunately don't have any photos. The boat now lives in Spain

The tank was made in Greece in the same way as Tek Tanks make them in the UK and I suggest you talk to them about making a tank for you. They have made 2 tanks for me in the past, one waste and one fuel. They are the experts and will give you help deigning your system.

When you say you fitted in the locker behind the washbasin do you mean in the three lockers located against the hull opposite the door?

No, against the aft bulkhead behind the door with the mirror on it
