Beware.....corrosion hazard!
The attached picture is of the badly corroded rudder lower bearing housing on our 2004 Bav36. The only symptoms were a slight tightening of the steering and a squeak. There was a little pitting evident on the outside of the housing. The bearing was completely seized in the housing. Not an improbable event considering the stainless rudder post through an aluminium housing surrounded by cu anti fouling.
I can't seem to readily source a replacement housing,any ideas?
