Bavaria 38 ocean alternater
« on: April 11 2017, 23:36 »
Had an issue with rev counter last year, needle dropped occasionally , alarm sounded briefly but engine didn't skip a beat: no change in revs.  Initially checked all connections with no joy and this year removed allternater and got it checked, cleaned up connections so hopefully ok this year once running a while.
My question is where does the yellow wire that comes internally from the alternate go.  The guys in the alternated workshop say normally in clipped onto the battery positive.  However on my alternater it disappears once connected to a another yellow wire on the wiring loom.  Can't really see where it terminates.  I guess this is the sensing wire..please excuse my ignorance and I am not so great with electrics
Thanks
John

Sounds like a sensing wire, in which case I'd expect it to go to domestic battery positive.
