Tuning Rigging on BAV 36 (2002)
« on: April 05 2014, 14:53 »
Now that the mast is back up I will have to tune it for the first time.

I  have a Selden fractional rigged double spreader which seems the norm for Bavaria.

The fraction appears to be  between 9/10 and 19/20.
The shrouds (cap and lower) have wire diameter of 7mm.
I have the Seldon Rigging guide but not much detail given on this particular fraction

The previous owner had the backstray really tight and it appeard not to have moved for years
I have a Loos Model B tension meter.

Any pointers or links from members who have tackled this job previously?

I have always tuned the rig on my 40oc . First get hold of one of the many books on the subject, then follow step by step. Its not rocket surgery. Geoff

The cap shrouds have 8mm diameter the lowers 7mm and pulley wire 5mm.
8mm is too wide for my Loos meter.
