Lubricating Selden Genoa And In-Mast Furlers
« on: September 05 2016, 21:00 »
[Subject changed from all-caps by Nigel]

I read the top and bottom bearings of both the Genoa and Inmast furler should be lubricated at the end of the season.
Does anyone have a method or a device commercially made or home made that ensures the bearings are lubricated properly.
Does anyone know how the professionals do the job.

It's a fairly rough-and-ready process, involving squirting grease into holes in the bearings.  You can buy Selden grease in a tube with a nozzle, or you could put grease in a plastic syringe to squirt it in.

I use a plastic cake icing syringe - perfect for the job and very economical to buy  :)
