Anchor Windlass solenoid Quick Hector
« on: August 22 2016, 14:15 »
I am trying to locate the anchor solenoid on Bavaria 42 cruiser (2007).  The solenoid must have stuck closed as the winch is now stuck permanently on which if I had not disconnected the fuse would be pulling the anchor up.

So far I have removed the bulkhead, looked behind the winch and only the remote contacts are there and also looked under all the seats.  Manual says nothing.
Anyone have any ideas?

If your winch is factory fitted the solenoid is likely to be behind the main control panel, above the chart table.

Yes it is factory fitted and you would have thought that but so far I have looked behind the panels and the area behind the chart table.  Will take a second look just in case.

Found it !!!!!!!!!
For information the solenoid contacts are on the winch.  Quick hector windlass.  Once you remove the grey cover at the back you can see the solenoid contacts and one had fallen apart and was closing the contacts.  All sorted.
