Bavaria 38 CC Companionway stairs
« on: June 26 2017, 11:32 »
Good Morning-

The hardware which attaches the companionway stairs/ladderwell to the bulkhead broke on my 2000 Bavaria 38 CC.

I attached a couple of pictures.   Any suggestions of where to obtain or order a replacement  from would be appreciated.   More to the point the actual nomenclature/name for the piece of hardware would be helpful as I search the online distributors would be a huge help.

Thank you

Scott

I'd suggest you take the broken pieces off, and go visit your nearest stainless steel fabricator and ask them to stainless weld the broken parts back together. Alternatively they may be able to fabricate what appears to be a simple hook device that allows the top of the ladder to be hooked in to brackets attached to the bulkhead.

Good luck.

Ladder hook and ladder hook plate: http://timage.eu/marine/88-ladder-fittings

Mine are made from chromed brass, not SS. Haven't managed to snap one off yet :)
