Bavaria gas oven
« on: August 04 2014, 18:26 »
I have just had the righthand  gas ring fail. The problem us the flame failure device has stopped working. If you hold the gas tap in it works but the flame goes out when the knob is released.
Does anyone know if a flame failure device is available and if so from where.

I think that its probably a bad earth connection to the thermocouple sensor.
Same thing happened to me.
I lifted the top poked around for a bit thought I had failed.

Reconnected everything and found to my surprise both rings were working.

I had a similar intermittent problem last year. Spoke to a gas fitter about it while he was replacing the flexible gas hoses on the boat. He suggested turning the burner ring round slightly, and explained that sometimes the flame is not close enough to the thermocouple to heat it up sufficiently. Tried that and - so far - no problems this year.

Same problem as last year very little flame even with full gas bottle.
Tightened up the nut underneath the thermocouple on both jets
Result gas flame strong on both burners.
