B36/2004 distribution panel - pin type definition
« on: October 09 2015, 15:42 »
The distribution panel has 2 connectors as attached.
I want to populate some of the spare circuits.
Anybody knows the exact definition of the pins used in this housing - they seem to be Molex type but slightly larger than the type used in PC power supplies

Most of the parts for the boat are either Swedish, German or Italian, I'm not sure what the molex type connectors are,but all the stoppers, pulleys, turning blocks .etc are Rutgerson which is swedish, I would imagine that the type of molex connectors you are looking for are German     Ed

The attached is my copy of my modified connectors, it may help.

Thanks.
These are the thin pin type. The UNIVERSAL Mate n Lock are larger pins - I believe these are the correct type - http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/683

I also found them on EBay from a USA source. Shipping costs will probably define where I will get them from.

Maybe I was wrong and the 2mm type are correct (the larger are 3.5mm) - need to check this on the boat  - anybody knows for sure?

The ones I linked to are the type on my boat, buy them at CPC.

The link is for the shells and I am looking only for the contacts - using your links as a starting point I can't find which contacts are used in them.

My original info came from the boa website a few years ago.  I did obtain some 2mm to extent my lighting circuit on a B32

Odd. Just measured the pins of the type used in old PC power supplies for the hard disk - they are 2mm and I clearly remember that they were a bit smaller than those used in the connector in the boat.
However, without having the boat connector in front of me, 3.5mm seems a bit too thick - will have to get to the boat and measure exactly and take it from there.

The link is for the shells and I am looking only for the contacts - using your links as a starting point I can't find which contacts are used in them.
I suggested CPC for a reason,  see the datasheet on this page, search it for the part numbers (for example 350736-1) and it tells you what contacts are available.

Alternatively, look at the Associated Products on the Farnell page then use the Manufacturer Part Number with CPC.
