Raw Water System

I had exactly this same problem back in 2009, and after 3 weeks trying everything and almost resorting to drink permanently I eventually disconnected the clear inlet pipe at the raw water strainer, connected up a freshwater hosepipe, opened the saildrive seacock, turned the hosepipe on full and left for 30 minutes or so. The bubbles had completely disappeared when I reconnected the pipe, opened the seacock and restarted the engine. As a matter of routine I take the opportunity to flush the saildrive when in a marina or harbour....

It's certainly worth a try, I can't wait to get back to St. Thomas, where alcohol is much less expensive!! Thanks, I'll let everyone know the results..
