Flush fit 240V socket

My socket has been not making good connection for a while as it has some corrosion, requiring me to ‘waggle’ it to get it to hook up. Today it won’t stay hooked up at all, so it’s time to get it off and either swap the unit or clean it up. All that waggling and crackling has led to it smelling somewhat interesting also (burning smell from the plug ???).

Do these ones still fill with water and corrode? Anyone found a better option?

The one you linked to is only IP44, but it's a good price and flush when it's not in use. 

My Bavaria came as standard with one of these sockets, which are rated IP56 - https://www.svb24.com/en/cee-shore-side-socket-chromed.html

It seems to work OK, but I have replaced the plug once due to arcing inside it.

I had one of those that the OP posted. It's made of really cheap nasty brittle plastic. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I have recently fitted one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FAWO-BLACK-MAINS-ELECTRIC-HOOK-UP-SOCKET-MOTORHOME-CAMPER-SELFBUILD-VW-CARAVAN-/274521736799?hash=item3feac5465f which seems to be much better.
If you are having water problems then it may be better to resite the socket into a less vulnerable place.
