Bow thruster installation B37 2003
« on: December 04 2019, 20:01 »
Dont want to start new topic for this. Planning to install vetus 55 bow thruster on my B37 2003. Can you install it without removing front watertank? Dont really need two watertanks but if you can do it without destroing it would be great.

If your 37 is the same as my old 2001 model, don't think there is room aft of the water tank so the tank would have to be removed. That was the conclusion I came to when I investigated before I sold the boat. The newer Farr designs like Ripster,s 36 and my 33 have different shaped bow sections which means the tank is further forward and the thruster is indeed aft of the tank.

Any particular reason for a Vetus? as Sidepower are more commonly fitted to Bavarias - original equipment for many years.

Price was number one reason for vetus. Got it 950 euro from local marineshop in Helsinki. I think they will bring new brushless models so old ones goes cheap now.
Seems that i need to cut that watertank out then.
